4 CLUBBERS W SILVERCLUBIE - 31.05.2003

4 Clubbers to projekt studyjny / nagraniowy powstały w wyniku połączenia sił Junfood Junkies (Jens i Bernd) i Future Breeze (Markus i Martin).

Biography „4 Clubbers“
„4 Clubbers“ is actually a collaboration between the two successful Alphabet City projects „Junkfood Junkies“ (Jens and Bernd) and „Future Breeze“ (Markus and Martin). After having produced several different remixes the four guys decided to use the synergy effect and founded „4 Clubbers“. Their first single is a fresh and uplifting trance rework of Robert Miles´ clubanthem „Children“ which became a huge hit all over the world. Probably it is not necessary to mention that the version of „4 Clubbers“ reached number one positions in short time of all important German Dance Charts. It became a worldwide club tune, which was especially in europe a mega success! (#2 European Dance Charts)! The follow up single “Together” was also a massive clubtune. Different to the debut single “Together” was a complete self-made production introducing the singeress Stefanie Giesen who did her debut in the music scene. She was discovered by the 4 clubbers team during a talent show in a german discotheque. With the beginning of the new year 2003 the third 4 Clubbers single called “Someday” is ready to rock the dance scene again. Released on vinyl in December 2002 (with a hugh Ian van Dahl Remix on it) “Someday” hit all important german dance charts in top 10 positions as the highest entry tune (first week of 2003). Also “Someday” is again a self-made production with vocals by Stefanie the 4 Clubbers decided to give a special bonus to the fans of coverversions. A second vinyl is on it’s way to the record dealer with a very special clubversion of “Someday” and a typical 4 Clubbers version of the 80s Ultravox classic “Hymn” on the flipside.

Junkfood Junkies:

In 1994 Jens and Bernd met in a record shop in Aachen and as Jens already had some studio experience, the two decided to work together. It proved to be a good choice and after a short while the two had their first track, Gatekeepers - First EP, released on the Belgian label Bonzai, followed by various releases (see discography). The most successful venture to date is the Junkfood Junkies project, which was born after a huge meal at the big M with the well known rapper MC Quest. With the first single „Work it“ Jens and Bernd got themselves some serious chart entries on an international level.

The singles „J.U.N.K.“, „For Your Mind“ and „Funky Horn“ propelled the two in even higher hemispheres.
„For Your Mind“ was a collaboration with the guitarist Ralph Dirrichs and Terri Bjerre, also singer of the Future Breeze duo, which gave the single the cutting edge. The single took its place in distinct record boxes of the likes of Piet Blank and DJ Taucher.

Furthermore „Funky horn“ has been used for the „Radio Eins-Live“ New Years Eve Party commercial.

After a short break the guys came along with another huge club anthem: „The journey“ which was released on Drop Out and the Ministry Of Sound sublabel „IDJ“ became one of the most influential hard house smasher in Ibiza and England in 2001. The follow up „Spin out“ was again a big clubtune played by the most important DJs such as Pulsedriver. The new Junkfood Junkies single is called “Partytime” and already a finished product. It well be released end of January 2003.

Future Breeze:

The history of Markus and Martin began with a demo tape they sent to Klaus Derichs and Marc Romboy at Alphabet City in 1995. The label owners were very enthusiastic about the two newcomers and after a short while Future Breeze got their first record deal. At this point Markus was still working as a lathe operator and Martin as an electrician, but both put all their strength into this new project. Night after night the two were eagerly working in their studio, which was funnily enough in a bunker!

After having deliverded several club hits like „Read my lips“ and „Heulender Wolf“ the big break came in 1996, when "Why don't you dance with me" propelled to number one in the German Dance Charts and in the Media-Control-Single-Charts at position #14. After "Keep the fire burning" (German Dance Charts #1) and "Another Day" (Top 10) the two decided to leave their day job and start a full-time career in music entertainment.

But if you think Future Breeze are only capable of producing commercial dance music, you certainly should think again. Under the name "Ten Inch" the two produced a massive underground stormer, called "Splash", which was licensed by Edel Music. To put the icing on the cake, the "X-Pact" project was released on "Strictly Rhythm" in New York, which shows that the two are capable of much more than being a cheesy trance act. To put all this in perspective, the single "Smile", which was released in autumn 2000, proved to be another massive hit (Media Control Dance Charts #3, DDC #3, GDJ Playlist #2).

With the single "Temple of dreams" on Data (Ministry Of Sound) the boys definitely secured their place in the new millennia and remixes by Pedro Del Mar and Dirt Devils are certainly an eye, or better, an ear candy! The  follow up single “Ocean Of Eternity” was again a example that the boys are masters of brilliant melodies and hooks. The last chapter of a hopefully neverending Future Breeze story is their new single “Heaven Above” which again rocks the german dance scene in the first days of 2003.

Y@HU - when did you decide to become a disc jockey
- when and where did it really start
- how long have you been a deejay ?

JENS – I STARTED TO PLAY IN A CLUB WHEN I WAS 16 YEARS OLD! MY BEST FRIENDS' THAT TIME WAS RESIDENT DJ IN A SMALL CLUB IN AACHEN. EVERY SATURADY WE HAVE BEEN

IN THE CLUB IN ORDER TO PLAY 3 OR 4 RECORDS WHILE THE RESIDENT DJ WAS ON THE WAY TO TOILET OR BUSY WITH SOME GILRS...    NOW I AM DJ FOR ALREADY 13 YEARS!

YOUR MEMORIES
Y@HU - Tell me something (as much as possible) about the deejays you know / you've met in your career ?

JENS – DURING THE LAST 13 YEARS I MET A LOT OF DJ'S IN MY CAREER. I CAN'T REMEMBER SOMETHING REALLY SPECIAL IN THIS TIME...

Y@HU - Tell me about most exciting moments in / about your deejay / producer career ?

JENS – MOST EXCITING MOMENT IN MY DEEJAY CAREER WAS TO PLAY IN RUSSIA ON A BIG STADIUM! CLOSE TO 14000 PARTY PEOPLE HAVE BEEN IN THIS HALL AND I HAD THE PLEASURE TO PLAY A 1 HOUR SET!!!! MY MOST EXCITING MOMET IN MY PRODUCER CAREER WAS WHEN I SAW THE SELLING VINYL FIGURES OF 4 CLUBBERS - CHILDREN... WE SOLD OVER 13000 VINYLS!!!

Y@HU - Can you tell anything interesting about music artists you know or met ?

JENS – AFTER SCHOOL I FINNISHED A TECHNICAL EDUCATION! AFTER STUDYING 1 YEAR

Y@HU - What do you think about today deejays whose use samplers, CD mixers, studio equipment "create" special versions of the songs / recordings, known as covers - is this serious or just fake - I mean they create nothing in fact - they just use good music made by someone else from the past. In other words - they can create nothing if it wasn’t from  such old, good records of the '70, ’80 or ’90 ?

JENS – I THINK THAT THIS MUSIC IS NOT SO BAD! ESPECIALLY THE COVER SONGS ARE NOT TOO BAD BEVAUSE A LOT O
