Groove Coverage - Dj Novus

W miejscowości Rottenburg (Dolna Bavaria) - 7 listopada 1976 roku przyszedł na świat (jak to zwykle w takich przypadkach bywa) malutki Markus Schaffarzyk. Nikt jeszcze wtedy nie przypuszczał, że stanie on się jedną z największych gwiazd muzyki dyskotekowej przełomu XX i XXI wieku.

Od wczesnego dzieciństwa Markus przejawiał muzyczne zainteresowania. W wieku 8 lat fascynowała go Madonna i Elvis Presley. Zainspirowany przeróżnymi, muzycznymi wydarzeniami w pobliskim Monachium - w 1995 roku rozpoczął swoja karierę deejaya. Zyskał sobie wówczas sporą popularność jeżdżąc od klubu do klubu ze swoim show zatytułowanym - "Hands-up-Party Trance".

W 1996 roku spotkał innego wspaniałego, niemieckiego deejaya Axela Konrada. Znajomość ta przerodziła się bardzo szybko w dużą przyjaźń i wspólne muzyczne interesy.W roku 2001 powstał ich rewelacyjny projekt "GROOVE COVERAGE" należący do firmy Suprime Music Ingolstadt. Ich pierwszy singiel zatytułowany "Are u ready" trafił bez problemu na dobrą pozycję Top 20 of the Dance/Club charts w Niemczech. Współproducentem tego przeboju był Ole Wierk.

Potem przyszedł czas na techno wersję "Moonlight Shadow" Mike Oldfielda, która dotarła na 3 pozycję Media Control Charts w Niemczech oraz Top 20 German Single-selling Charts.

Nagranie to bardzo szybko uzyskało nagrodę Złotej Płyty (250.000 sprzedanych egzemplarzy - głównie na CD singlu) jak też nominacje do nagrody "Echo 2003" i "Mc Mega Music Award 2003".

Można powiedzieć, że marzenie dwóch młodych i skromnych niemieckich deejayów spełniło się.Od tego momentu w wielu renomowanych dyskotekach Europy pojawiły się: Groove Coverage - Live Act oraz Groove Coverage - DJ Act.

Kolejny singiel "God is a Girl" z 2002 roku osiągnął również ogromny sukces:

• No. 1 of the German DJ Play list
• No 8 Meda Control Germany

W tym samym czasie ukazał się pierwszy album Groove Coverage, na którym partie wokalne zaśpiewały Verna i Mell.

Pod koniec roku 2002 do teamu dołączył znakomity autor piosenek Lou Bega znany z mega przeboju "Mambo No 5".

W 2003 roku ukazał się kolejny hicior - techno wersja "Poison" znany z repertuaru amerykańskiego, kultowego hard metalowca Alice Cooper. Na początek 2004 roku przewidziano datę wydania drugiego albumu.

Kariera Groove Coverage czyli projektu muzycznego Markusa Schaffarzyka (DJ Novus) i Axela Konrada przebiega wspaniale. Produkują przebój za przebojem ku radości tysięcy bywalców dyskotek na całym świecie.

In 1976, strictly speaking at 07^th November a little boy came into this world: Markus Schaffarzyk

– a little star was borne.

Even from earliest childhood he showed big interest in music and therefore he owned his first record

-player already at the age of eight, though then it was all about Elvis Presley and Madonna.

Inspired by various events in Munich he started – at his parents’ annoyance – his DJ-career in his parental home in Rottenburg in Lower Bavaria in 1995.

Known under his pseudonym “Novus” (lat. mean. “New”) he rapidly casted a spell on the regional crowds with his “Hands-up-Party Trance”. All his friends and lots of fans joined his sets and numerous bookings far beyound the borders of his home state Bavaria were following.

In 1996, while those booking- and resident activities, he got to know Axel Konrad at one of his gigs in his home base at that time.

By a very short time they both knew that they are on the same wavelength – in music matters as well as interpersonal – and a friendship far beyond the “Dj-thing” developed. (Original quotation from A.K. 1996: “As a townie I thought you can make a killing here at the country because you own the newest and most fabulous vinyls, but you had to put away one after the other record again because the resident dj is playing exactly your set!”)

In cooperation with Suprime Music Ingolstadt the project “Groove Coverage” was founded overnight by Markus and Axel in Summer 2001.

Supported by his both producers Axel Konrad and Ole Wierk even the debut single entered the Top 20 of the Dance/Club charts. Probably “Are u ready” should have been a sign at that time, because with the second track the final, enormous breakthrough succeeded like no one dared to imagine before.

The cover version of Mike Oldfields superhit “Moonlight Shadow” was number 3 of Media Control Charts and blessed DJ Novus – in the meantime resident in Ingolstadt - the with a 14-days-residence in the Top 20 of the German Single-selling Charts.

Golden record for more than 250,000 sold sound storage media; nomination for an “Echo 2003”,

“Mc Mega Music Award 2003” – a dream came true!

Since then Groove Coverage are now touring as Live-act as well as Dj-Act through all parts of Europe and are fireing their audience.

Simoultaneous with the third single, which should also be the fastest own-composed No. 1 of the German DJ Play list (“God is a Girl”, Meda Control: #8) GC published their first album called “Cover Girl” by the end of 2002. By meeting up with Lou Bega they got a songwriter, who everyone should still remember of well because of his “Mambo No. 5”.

Without taking a long break GC worked on completion of the fourth single by using again the very expressive and emotional vocals of Verena and Mell, who also contributed the vocals for the whole

GC album.

“The End” means not the end but was already the beginning of the second album (incl. the new smashing hit single POISON).  Expected date of publication: January 2004.

DJ NOVUS – In 1995 I decided to become a dj. It starts in 1996 at little club in Bavaria (Germany). Now is year 2004 so I’m deejay since 8 years.
